who we are.

paper or plastik was founded in september 2004 by luis carmona and abigail de leon. after hours of debating on a name, we finally decided to go with paper or plastik. after the passing away of one of the founding partners, paper or plastik was put on hold. it was later established in january 2006.
paper or plastik t-shirts focus on comfort and style, with some color and brightness on the side. it’s a company with a little bit of edge, funk and sarcasm. our designs are a bit random, but that’s okay. we like to stand out! we don’t take ourselves to seriously and we have fun doing what we do.

partial proceeds from each product sold are donated to the abigail de leon scholarship fund, which was started in memory of abby, one of paper or plastik’s founding partners. the scholarship fund was created to provide assistance to students studying/involved in the fashion industry. the first scholarship is scheduled to be awarded in 2011.

this company is dedicated to abigail de leon. abby was one of the founding partners of paper or plastik who was sadly taken from this world at the young age of 23. may her dreams and spirit live forever through her ideas and designs. we’re doing this for you, abby. i hope we are making you proud.
